2014 30A Thanksgiving 10K Grant Applications Due April 18, 2014
30A 10K race course is Certified # FL12097EBM and is a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier!!Tour scenic highway 30-A and give yourself an excuse to go for that second slice of pumpkin pie with the Second 30A 10K Thanksgiving Day race and 1 Mile fun run. Hosted by Hammer Down Multisport the region’s largest cycling, triathlon and running club, the race both starts and finishes in the beautiful town of Rosemary Beach. The out and back course winds along Scenic Highway 30-A offering breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico, Camp Creek Coastal Dune lake and takes runners past pristine beach communities filled with the most inspiring and exclusive properties along the Gulf Coast. This fast and flat, out-and-back route is designed for running enthusiasts looking for a great race to reach a new personal record or just to enjoy the holidays with family and friends in a beautiful community. The race begins at 7:30 am and features aid stations along the route. Participates are asked to arrive at least one hour prior to the race start to allow ample time for parking and registration. An awards ceremony will conclude the festivities. All participants will receive a complimentary custom designed 30A 10K t-shirt and post-race refreshments. Donations 4 Danny. The beneficiaries of our second annual event will be: Donations 4 Danny, Lighthouse Family Retreat and Food For Thought . Danny Margagliano was a South Walton Firefighter/Paramedic who was seriously injured in a accident and is a quadriplegic. Proceeds will help defer some of Danny’s medical expenses and live-in caretaker. Ligthhouse Family Retreat serves children with cancer and their families with retreats to 30A Beach Communities. Food For Thought provides backpacks filled with easy-to-make meals so children can focus on their development and education, not where the next meal is coming from.Hammer Down Multisport and 30A 10K Race Director Karen Meadows wants to thank everyone for their support and participation in the second annual race. We anticipate this race will be continue to grow as a major event in South Walton and 30A community.
