The Fourth Annual 30A 10K Gives $48,000 to Local Charities

To date, the 30A 10K has raised over $150,000 for local charities!

30A 10K DonationSanta Rosa Beach, FL—(December 8, 2015)—The 30A 10K Race is proud to announce a record-breaking fundraising total of $48,000 from this year’s event.

Since its inception four years ago, the non-profit race has donated more than $150,000 to local charities through the wonderful support of thousands of runners and more than 50 local corporate sponsorships.

The race is the official RRCA Florida State 10K championship race and is held on Thanksgiving Day in Rosemary Beach, Fla.

This family-friendly, non-profit event proudly presented checks to three deserving 501c3 charities including: Shelter House, Anchorage Children’s Home and the Walton County Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation via the Walton County Sheriff’s Department, on December 7, 2015 at Acme Ice House. The funding will be divided equally between each organization.

“Funds received from the 30A 10K will allow Anchorage Children’s Home to continue providing safety to homeless and runaway youth in our community,” says Brooke Bullard, Development Director for Anchorage Children’s Home. “Our emergency shelter suffered some unexpected funding cuts this year and the funds donated from the [30A 10K] run will help us offset some of that loss.  We are very grateful to the 30A 10K staff and all the volunteers and participants who helped make this race a success, and for supporting kids in our community.”

The 30A 10K is a beloved Thanksgiving Day tradition for both locals and out-of- town visitors who choose to spend their holiday at the beach. Runners World Magazine heralded Thanksgiving Day as “the biggest running day of the year,” and the 30A 10K was no exception this year after seeing a record crowd of 2,000 race registrants.

Local charities were encouraged to apply in June of 2015 for available funding from the 30A 10K profits, which were raised from race registration fees and generous corporate sponsorship donations.

These three deserving charities were chosen based on their mission to support family and children’s health and well being; their proximity to South Walton; their current level of funding; and their ability to fulfill the guidelines as a beneficiary of the 30A 10K. Charities interested in applying for 30A 10K 2016 funding should visit 30a10k.com for guidelines and procedures, or e-mail info@30a10k.com. Applications will be accepted in early February 2016.

Past recipients of 30A 10K funding include the Lighthouse Family Retreat, Food For Thought, Donations 4 Danny, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, and Shelter House.

Registration for the 5th annual 2106 30A 10K & 1-mile fun run charity race will open in late spring/early summer of 2016.
